Monday 6 February - Sunday 12 February 2023 is National Apprenticeship Week, providing an opportunity to celebrate the positive impact that apprenticeships have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
We have spoken to some of our current apprentices about their experience of apprenticeships at Ashfords, offering insight into the benefits of apprenticeships and the opportunities on offer at the firm.
First, we spoke with Molly Mulligan, Business Administration apprentice in our IT team.
I have gained so much knowledge from experienced individuals, who also trained at Ashfords, showing there are no barriers to getting to the top! The best thing about my apprenticeship is by far the hands-on training I receive and also having the chance to put my new skills into practice.
I think that it is really important to do your research and think further ahead. Don’t just settle for the first opportunity you see as there are plenty out there.
You have a network of supportive colleagues but also a sense of independence. I think the biggest difference is experiential learning and being able to contribute towards the success of a big firm like Ashfords.
20% of my working hours are classroom based. All of the work I am set by college is also completed within my working hours. This is the perfect balance to combine practical training with study.
Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeships at Ashfords run for 15-18 months, allowing you to gain valuable experience in planning and organisation in a corporate setting, as well as develop your problem solving and decision making abilities. Completing this apprenticeship will open doors to administrative roles in a variety of fields, including IT, Marketing & HR.
