Ashfords is supporting The Trussell Trust, as part of our Power of Three charity programme, until 2026.
This charity supports a network of food banks across the country, providing emergency food and support to people facing hardship, all whilst campaigning for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. Over the past 12 months the firm has taken part in a number of fundraising activities, including food donations, quiz nights and sport events, which has raised a current total of £6,719.
Collection boxes for The Trussell Trust have also been located at each of our four offices all year round, which has proven to be a popular way to donate.
Ashfords property disputes team visited the Exeter Foodbank, also part of The Trussell Trust network, to sort and pack over 150 crates of donations in the warehouse. During the visit, the group delivered the donations gathered from the collection box in the Exeter office, which weighed 54kg.
A group from Ashfords’ Bristol office volunteered at the Bristol North West Foodbank, which operates under The Trussell Trust, packing Christmas hampers for the local community. 120 hampers were packed in total, which included essential food, toiletries and miscellaneous items.
Over the festive period, a number of Christmas activities and events took place across the Ashfords offices including a festive bake sale, quiz, candy cane sleigh crafting and Christmas Jumper Day. Our people took part and donated to one of the charities in the Power of Three programme, which ultimately raised £284 for The Trussell Trust.
The firm invited contacts, clients and connections from across Exeter to compete in a mixed netball tournament at the University of Exeter, which doubled up as a networking event. With seven teams taking part, each attendee was kindly encouraged for donations directly to The Trussell Trust, including food and produce items for the local food bank. The event exceeded its target, raising £510 for the charity.
Ashfords hosted a quiz night in aid of the charity at The Cosy Club in Bristol. 30 teams took part in the event, raising a grand total of £5,000 from team entries, a raffle and extra donations during the night. Following the success, this has now become an annual event.
