Biography
Barney is an Associate in the Corporate Team specialising in a variety of corporate matters.
Barney advises on mergers and acquisitions, early stage fund-raising and venture capital, corporate restructures and general corporate governance.
Barney trained at a national law firm before joining Ashfords in 2021.
Relevant experience
- Anorak Technologies – advised on the sale of insurance broker Anorak Technologies Limited to a German buyer.
- FingerPrint – assisted shareholders with the sale of FingerPrint Global Limited, a software company operating in the medical supplies industry, to an investment platform set up by private equity firm Aliter Capital.
- Form 3 – assisted payment technology platform Form 3 on a company restructure, involving the roll up of shares and options to a parent company and a further capital reduction and buyback.
- Nanorobotics and childcare – separately advise companies in the nanorobotics and childcare sectors on early stage funding, utilising a variety of convertible loan notes, advanced subscription agreements and simple equity.
- Private companies: advise clients on a variety of company matters, such as shareholder agreements, board minutes and shareholder resolutions, option agreements, articles of association and buyback agreements.
