Biography

Issy is a paralegal in the Property Disputes team

Issy specialises in housing disrepair and works closely with local authorities and housing associations to advise on social housing disrepair claims. She also works with private clients, advising on housing possession claims.

Before joining Ashfords, Issy studied LLB Law at the University of Exeter. She then went on to complete her LLM (SQE 1&2) with the University of Law at the Exeter campus. 

During her studies at the University of Exeter, Issy volunteered at the Exeter Community Law Clinic in both the Wills & Probate team and the Access to Justice department. Here, she provided pro bono advice to the Exeter community.

Relevant experience

  • Private client: researching and assisting with a nuisance claim regarding a boundary dispute;
  • Private client: advising on a housing possession claim;
  • Local authorities: managing claims, drafting correspondence and other legal documents, preparing disclosure documents, instructing experts, settling matters, defending proceedings.
