Biography
Michael is a Partner in the Real Estate Team.
Michael has a wide range of experience in commercial property transactions with a particular emphasis on residential and commercial development acting for landowners, developers and registered providers; secured lending acting for banks and other lenders.
Michael is client partner for two large regional housebuilders overseeing the relationship and ensuring that work across our real estate, construction and planning teams is provided on time and to budget.
Michael qualified in 1996 and has worked in the South West throughout that time.
Relevant experience
- Housebuilder: Acting for a number of housebuilders in connection with numerous development site acquisitions including complex options and conditional contracts and then overseeing security arrangements, site set and plot sales.
- Landowners’ consortium: Advising a consortium of landowners dealing with the grant of an option to a consortium of developers on a site expected to provide up to 2000 homes.
- Regional registered proprietor: Acting for the client in relation to acquisition and disposal of numerous affordable housing developments.
- Joint venture: Acting for the open market arm of a registered provider in relation to the acquisition of a residential development as part of a joint venture with an open market developer and the transfer of the affordable units to the registered provider.
- Promotion Agreements: Acting for both promoters and landowners on the negotiation of promotion agreements
- Overage: Negotiation of new and variation of existing overage arrangements for both landowners and developers
