Biography

Mike is a chartered legal executive in the employment team, specialising in both contentious and non-contentious work in the jurisdiction of the Employment Tribunal.

Mike has experience working for both claimants and respondents on a range of matters including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and wages claims.

Mike has 3.5 years experience working in a legal advice capacity, providing advice to individuals, sole traders as well as small and large businesses on an array of legal issues. This included employment, tenancy disputes, property, and contract matters amongst other areas.

Mike also has specialised exclusively in employment law since March 2022 on claims against both national and international companies, as well as defending claims for a wide range of businesses. He was able to achieve fantastic results for clients which included success at the Tribunal as well as favourable settlements.

Mike joined Ashfords in July 2024 after qualifying as a chartered legal executive.

Relevant experience

During his time working in Employment Litigation, Mike has being running cases and assisting on the following matters:

  • Acting for a claimant client against a large multi-national broadcaster in an unfair dismissal claim.
  • Acting for a national multi-academy trust on a number of matters which included discrimination, whistleblowing and dismissal claims.
  • Achieving a favourable settlement for a claimant client that had faced significant campaign of discrimination during their time working at a large UK university.
  • Acting for a spinal injury charity in the successful defence of a case with over 12 separate heads of claim. - C Wheeler v Association for Spinal Injury Rehabilitation and Reintegration (Aspire): 3311677/2022
  • Acting in the successful defence of a number of claims against religious temples brought by a serial lay-representative.
