Biography
Sam is a Partner in the Corporate Team. He specialises in venture & growth capital fundraisings, international M&A and private equity, joint ventures and equity incentivisation work.
Sam advises a wide range of high growth companies and renowned investors across multiple sectors and has significant experience collaborating with founders and management teams to guide them through key strategic decisions, business challenges, and day-to-day activities as they scale.
Prior to joining Ashfords, Sam trained and worked at a Magic Circle law firm (in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai) and was a Partner at a Big 4 firm, where he was a leading figure in the firm’s multi-disciplinary offering for high growth companies.

- Literacy Capital: Advising on multiple acquisitions/growth equity investments, including EPM Transport Solutions
- Novotech: Advising TPG backed Novotech CRO on its multi-jurisdictional acquisition of EastHORN, a pan-European CRO business
- MYNDUP: Advising MYNDUP, a mental health and wellbeing platform for employees, on its Series A fundraise
- OakNorth: Advising on the acquisition of cash flow forecasting fintech Fluidly
- Judopay: Advising Judopay, a leading online payments solution, on multiple fundraising rounds (including Series A and B)
- Edgefolio: Advising Edgefolio, an investor relations portal/platform, on multiple fundraising and strategic investment rounds
- Illuminate Financial: Advising on multiple investments including multiple financing rounds for CloudMargin, Feedstock and Privitar
- ZPG: Advising on the acquisition of an automated valuations and markets analysis platform Calcasa
- XTM International: Advising the shareholders of a leading SaaS translation management software business on the disposal of a majority stake to K1
- JDM Technology Group: Advising on multiple cross-border acquisitions of software businesses, including Integrity Software Systems, Estimate Software, Rendra and Safran
